Unscripted series featuring Rob Lowe (pictured) and Garth Brooks are part of the 2021-2022 upfront slate for Disney-owned National Geographic.

Among the new programming, National Parks from Wildstar Films takes viewers on an in-depth tour of 10 locations across the United States, using state-of-the-art production to show each park’s unique characteristic and wildlife, from mountain lions in the Grand Canyon to active volcanoes in Hawaii. The series is narrated by country music legend Garth Brooks who also serves as executive producer alongside executive producer Dan Rees, and supervising producers Myles Connolly and Ben Wallis for Wildstar Films.

Called to the Wild from ITV Entertainment is an adventure series in which teams of humans and dogs depend on each other to survive and thrive in the wild. Each week three new teams of people and their dogs embark on a 10-day wilderness challenge testing the limits of their survival skills and the strength of their indelible bond. Called to the Wild is based on an original format created by Marshal Bishop Productions. Executive producers are Jordana Hochman, Eric Hoberman and Steve Rankin for ITV Entertainment, as well as Mark Westcott and Duncan Gaudin for Marshal Bishop.

Into the Unknown (w/t) hails from Academy Award-winning executive producers E. Chai Vasarhelyi and Jimmy Chin, and takes audiences, through intimate interviews and self-shot archival footage, inside the minds of elite adventure athletes through transformative stories of confronting fear, devastating personal loss and experiencing Mother Nature at her harshest. Executive producers are E. Chai Vasarhelyi, Jimmy Chin, Anna Barnes and Pagan Harleman.

Fans of the Brat Pack will relish The ’80s: Top Ten from Nutopia, with the era’s resident heartthrob and icon Rob Lowe (pictured) as host. Over the course of six episodes Lowe will deliver top 10 countdowns of 1980s pop culture, as voted by a panel of experts. The ’80s: Top Ten is executive produced by Jane Root, Matt Edmonds, and Nicola Moody for Nutopia. Lowe is also executive producer.

The Brain Games franchise is getting an extension via Brain Games on the Road from Magical Elves. In each half-hour episode, host Chuck Nice will pit two teams of four players against each other in a friendly competition for all ages, with brain-teasing www.gulfportpharmacy.com games designed for at-home play. The series is executive produced by Casey Kriley, Jo Sharon, James Rowley, and co-executive produced by Lisa Pegnato for Magical Elves.

Returning series include Gordon Ramsay: Uncharted; Life Below Zero, Life Below Zero: Next Generation and Port Protection: Alaska; Running Wild with Bear Grylls and Trafficked with Marianna van Zeller.
