Ahead of the premiere of Investigation Discovery’s docuseries Casey Anthony: An American Murder Mystery on Sunday (April. 9), realscreen presents an exclusive clip from the three-night series.

ID, in partnership with Weinstein Television, Jupiter Entertainment and American Media Inc., will take audiences inside the investigation of the murder of two-year-old Caylee Anthony in a new special. 

Casey Anthony: An American Murder Mystery airs this Sunday (April 9) at 10 p.m. ET/PT on ID.

In a three-night television event, ID looks to re-examine the key players, puzzling actions and questionable motives behind one of the most captivating and controversial cases of all-time — the 2011 trial of Casey Anthony for the murder of her daughter Caylee, whose remains were found in December 2008 after being missing for months.

“The murder of Caylee Marie Anthony is one of the most fascinating and disturbing crimes of this century,” said Pamela Deutsch, senior executive producer, Investigation Discovery, in a statement. “From the whirlwind investigation to the media mayhem in the courtroom, our viewers have a deep infatuation with this case – which, to this day, remains unsolved. There are still so many questions about what really happened to Caylee, so it is our hope that this three-part series will provide viewers with some of the answers they long for.”

Casey Anthony: An American Murder Mystery features new evidence and insight from those closest to the Anthony family, and never-before-seen footage of Casey.

Exclusive interviewees  include Caylee’s grandparents, Cindy and George Anthony, who offer a unique look into the inner-working of the Anthony family; also featured are Clint House, a former close friend and confidant of Casey’s; Belvin Perry, Jr., the judge who presided over Casey’s trial; Russ Huekler, an alternate juror who, among the other jurors, faced public scrutiny for the jury’s decision to acquit Casey; and Kevin Beary, the former Orange County Sheriff who first investigated the case.
