Discovery is set to premiere a new non-fiction series set in the hospital emergency room in January.
This Came Out of Me offers a behind-the-scenes look at the emergency facilities in 21 SignatureCare Emergency Center locations throughout Texas, including locations like Odessa, Austin, Houston and Midland. Fashion model turned ER physician Dr. Ruby Rose, one of 21 medical directors who oversee these freestanding ERs, will guide audiences through the series.
The series will premiere on Jan. 2.
Things ending up in places they shouldn’t be is a throughline of the series, with examples like a monster bug getting stuck in a patient’s ear, or a piece of concrete getting trapped in a patient’s leg. In the series premiere, a toddler has a bead stuck up her nose that must be removed before she inhales it, while a mechanic goes to the ER after his hand is accidentally impaled with a tool while working on a car engine.
This Came Out of Me is produced for Discovery Channel by Texas Crew Productions. Eric Begley, David Karabinas, Evan Goldstein and Brad Bernstein serve as executive producers for the prodco. Wyatt Channell, Caroline Perez and Scott Lewers are will executive produce for Discovery, with Andrew Lessner producing.
