Ina Garten’s Barefoot Contessa (pictured) and Discovery’s coverage of SpaceX’s May capsule launch were among the winners of the 48th annual Daytime Emmy Awards, broadcast on CBS and streamed on Paramount+.

Food Network’s Barefoot Contessa: Cook Like a Pro, from UK-based prodco Pacific, took the award for outstanding culinary host. The series is the latest iteration of Garten’s popular Barefoot Contessa brand — the channel’s oldest — which launched on the network in 2002. It features Garten showcasing recipes from her East Hampton home and includes appearances from famous chefs and celebrities.

Meanwhile, Discovery Science’s Space Launch Live: America Returns to Space, which set a record in May as the #1 non-prime telecast in Discovery Channel history, won the Emmy for outstanding daytime special event. The special covered the successful NASA launch of SpaceX’s Crew Dragon capsule from the Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral on May 30.

Winning the Emmy for outstanding daytime non-fiction special was Creators for Change on Girls’ Education with Michelle Obama from YouTube Originals. The special follows the former first lady as she’s joined by a trio of YouTube stars to discuss the state of girls’ education around the globe. The special was built around a visit from Obama, actress Julia Roberts and former first daughter Jenna Bush Hager to a school in Vietnam.

The remaining Daytime Emmys will be presented over two nights in July, with the Children’s Programming and Animation ceremony on July 17, followed by the Lifestyle Programming ceremony on July 18.
