U.S.-headquartered film distribution and sales company Utopia has acquired the North American rights to Show Me the Picture: The Story of Jim Marshall and the U.S. rights to Red Heaven, the company announced on Thursday (Oct. 14).

Show Me the Picture is a feature documentary celebrating legendary photographer Jim Marshall, told through more than 850 photos, many of which helped define the 1960s counterculture movement. He captured iconic shots of The Beatles, Bob Dylan, the Rolling Stones, Janis Joplin, Johnny Cash, Jimi Hendrix (pictured), Miles Davis and more, while also recording images of protest, civil unrest and poverty.

Utopia will release the film to select theaters nationwide throughout October, with the film already available on AppleTV and Altavod. The film is a Bailey Kennedy production, directed by Alfred George Bailey and produced by Tatiana Kennedy. Amelia Davis, Bonita Passarelli, Larry Levy, Richard Mansell, Adam Block, Arno Hazebroek, Nicolas D. Sampson and Christos Michaels serve as executive producers.

Red Heaven, meanwhile, is a feature documentary following six volunteers as they prepare for a year-long NASA experiment designed to replicate the physical and psychological conditions of a mission to Mars.

The film is a Sandbox Films production in association with Seeker and Insignia Films. Lauren DeFilippo and Katherine Gorringe are co-directors and producers on the documentary, with cinematography by David Alvarado, original music by William Ryan Fritch and editing by Katherine Gorringe.

The film will premiere on AppleTV and Altavod on Oct. 19.
