A trailblazer in the reality programming space, Scout Productions has always prided itself on authentic storytelling. Scout’s Queer Eye for the Straight Guy, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, paved the way for LGBTQ+ visibility in television, allowing later queer-oriented unscripted series like the HBO Max hit Legendary to thrive.

At the upcoming Realscreen Summit in Dana Point, David Collins (Co-Founder, Scout Productions, pictured top right) and Rob Eric (Chief Creative Officer, Scout Productions, pictured top left) will reflect on the evolution of Scout’s storytelling on television, from the original Queer Eye to the creation of Legendary, which is now in its third season. They will be joined by Jennifer O’Connell, EVP of non-fiction and live-action kids programming at HBO Max (pictured bottom right), and Dashaun Wesley (pictured bottom left), host of Legendary, for a wide-ranging discussion of how content creators and buyers have become increasingly interested in producing content that is reflective of diverse audiences, and how telling these stories requires authenticity and involvement from various communities — a challenge that takes this type of storytelling beyond superficial optics.

This special keynote conversation takes place on Wednesday, June 8 at 9:30 a.m. For more information on the Realscreen Summit in Dana Point, visit the official website here.
