National Geographic will premiere its new adventure series, Called to the Wild, on December 7.
The series follows human and dog teams as they test their bonds by surviving in the remote wilderness of Maine. The men and women will have to depend on their instincts — and their dogs — to build shelter, find food, stave off predators and survive the elements in a 10-day wilderness challenge.
Participants in the six-episode series include an Iditarod racing team, a military veteran and his service dog, an attorney and his hunting dog and a survivalist and her eight-month-old Lab.
Called to the Wild is produced by ITV America’s ITV Entertainment, and is based on an original format created by Marshal Bishop Productions. Jordana Hochman, Eric Hoberman and Steve Rankin serve as executive producers for ITV Entertainment, with Mark Westcott and Duncan Gaudin executive producing for Marshal Bishop.
